Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to treat my house for termites, ants, etc?
Not as much as you think. Most residential pest programs cost less than $500 for an entire year of service. Controlling insects that can damage the wood in your home is a little more difficult to estimate. Prices may vary from $300-$3000, depending on the size of your home. ProTreat offers a free inspection to determine how a Pest Management Program can protect your family and home.

Why can't you just come out once and get rid of all my pests?
If only it was that easy! The fact of the matter is, once pests are sighted, it might mean the population is out of control. When a homeowner sees one mouse, or one cockroach, or one silverfish, it is usually an indication that the infestation has grown large enough for pests to seek new nesting sights or food sources. If a Pest Management Program is not completed, the source of the infestation will continue to produce new pests. ProTreat's Pest Protection Plans provide year-round pest maintenance with only three scheduled visits per year to minimize applications, but includes free callback service.

What are the effects of long-term exposure to the pesticides you use?
New formulations, such as pastes, have nearly eliminated airborne pesticides indoors. Liquids and aerosols used by ProTreat have minimal amounts of active ingredients. In fact, the inert ingredients in some "over-the -counter" pest control products are more harmful to homeowners and the environment than anything a Pest Management Professional would consider using. Let the pros at ProTreat handle your pest problems.

Will your treatment hurt my pets?
No. The danger to your pets lies in not having a ProTreat Pest Management Program. Fleas, ticks, bees and rodents, can be a problem for your pet as well as your family. Pest Management Professionals at ProTreat are trained to be sure that the treatment we perform targets the pests only. The safety of our customers and their pets are our biggest concern.

Our house was treated for termites when we moved in five years ago. Does it need to be treated or inspected again?
Your home may not need to be treated again, but it definitely should be inspected. Here's a fact that may surprise you. Termites do more damage to homes in the U.S. each year than fire and storms combined! The U.S. forest service and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture recommended that structures be inspected once a year for termites and other wood-destroying insects. ProTreat offers a free inspection performed at your convenience.... call us!

We have seen a couple of roaches, but we are concerned about a treatment because our child suffers with Asthma. What do you suggest?
Please have your home treated by a Professional Pest Management Provider. Studies reported by Columbia University, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Howard University have reported a link between cockroaches and asthma in children. In addition, new technology in cockroach control has provided baits, pheromone traps and HEPA-filter vacuums, which quickly eliminate roach populations with minimal applications of nonvolatile, low-toxicity products.
